So, the air force wants to build 225 bombers that will probably end up costing over a billion a piece...
I am totally for a recap of our military. We haven't really had one since the 1980's and the military designed under the Carter administration and fielded by the Reagan one is largely burned up.
But there is a one huge problem. It is exemplified in this example. Our military and militaries of allied nations have been buying security cameras made in China. Turns out those cameras have been "chipped" and are sending data when they can back to the Chinese People's republic. There is now a massive program to find non-Chinese sourced Cameras and replace all the Chinese made ones. And guess what? All those made in Chinese drones that consumers are buying that have wifi capability? Yeah...calling home too. Two examples of chipping.
That RQ Sentinel drone that suddenly decided to land itself in Iran a few years back? Probably chipped. And guess what? Chinese electronic components are now found in many critical military systems, like the Aegis combat radars, F-35 digital control systems, the list goes on.
So, buying 225 bombers that have their critical control systems designed to be hackable by an adversarial nation is just dumb. Many of them will malfunction and crash in burn in a war with a "near peer" before they even get into the fight.
America has committed suicide by exporting it's critical industrial capacities to adversary nations for cheaper trinkets at Walmart and other big box stores. Oh how in my sinful nature I want vengeance against the MBA crap for brain single domain thinkers that gleefully sat on corporate boards and exported out nations future abroad, along with the the paid for politicians who not only allowed but facilitated and encouraged it to happen. But Vengeance is the Lord's, and my job is to pray for these people and love them as Jesus does. They make it hard for me sometimes.
Some at the top gained massive wealth, but the damage to our nation might not be recoverable from. The globalist view of economic efficiency and the exploitation of near slave labor abroad for temporal gains was exploited by a few at the detriment of many. Our adversaries played on our greed and have lured 100,000's of factories and millions of jobs away from out nation. Smart on their part, suicidal on ours.

So, that 225 billion is better spent trying to get our core economic engine jump started again rather than on gold plated military hardware that on paper is great but will not help against the adversaries they are designed to fight against is a better way to go.
