Miss California says it all.

So many died for so much that those who reject Biblical truth regard as so little.
And here is a classic story of how anyone can be used of God. Miss California did not speak elloquently when challenged. Her past is not perfect. But she did stick to the truth. And she at first lost it all. It shows that many of us have goals in life, and that if we stand on the truth our dreams many not come to pass. But that is ok, because like Miss California, God might have something better in store for us. Something more meaningful. But inorder to be fully used of God, I think we have to be able to show that we are willing to take a little pain, a little discomfort, and some loss. I don't believe Miss California would have been put to the test if she wasn't ready for that, and most of us very pampered Christians wonder why God doesn't use us...it is because we aren't willing to pay the price.
Miss California ended up keeping her current crown at least, but is denied the shot at a more prestigious earthly crown. But her actions, her stand for the truth, is more important, and more meaningful. She will one day wear another crown that a flamboyant social transformationalist judge, nor anyone else, can ever take away.
God doesn't use me much lately, because I'm a worm. I'm glad other people who claim a relationship with Christ aren't, and that they will stand for the truth in the midst of less then favorable circumstances.
The Bible says that God's eyes are searching the earth constantly for someone He can use. As we go towards the finish line, either individually as another day passes, or corporately as Jesus's return appears to be growing closer with every day, will you and I step up? Will we pass the small every day test so we have the confidence in our God to stand when a bigger test comes? Perfection not required, as only one, Jesus, has ever been perfect. But willingness and commitment and faith is required. If no test are coming at us right now (and if you are really walking with Jesus, they will come eventually), we should sharpen ourselves by focusing on Christ so that when the test come, big or small, we will stand.

Change I Can Believe In
I remember a time in life where I had about $300 bucks left over after paying bills each month not counting the Credit Card. That came out to about $275. So basically I was living on edge, it would just take one big thing to set me over the edge.
I see America in the same place. Our debts are huge, and getting bigger. You can google that yourself. Every once in a while I get a little conspiratorial. Is it just me, or is America's current fiscal policy INSANE? Trillion here, Trillion there, oh, we can't pay back that Trillion, so we better borrow another Trillon. Maybe the change Obama and his co-horts had in mind all along, even before he got into office, was to push America over the edge. We were teetering, but after this guy leaves office, our monitary system, our economy, and our way of life will have crossed the event horizon of us ever being able to restore what once was.
Is that the Change I can believe in? Because I do believe that is what is happening. How can so many smart people not see this? Or is it that they do see this, and they are telling the American public "Good doggie, here is a bone" while secretly plotting our demise, or at best realizing our demise in at hand and trying to secretly manage it? It makes more sense then everyone just being so unwise. And let's all face it, this borrow, spend, borrow, spend cycle - without addressing any of America's structural problems - is national suicide.
But then again, maybe America being a super power is one of the "childish" things I am being asked to give up. For my personal credit card problem, a parental loan and a house sale saved my rear, but I don't see any sort of bail out for America coming. Time to pray for one.
I love my country, but I don't see anyway out of this one. But my eyes are finate, maybe all these econ folks have some sort of mystical trick up their sleeves. It is going to have to be one heck of a trick, and to be honest, I don't see it.
I do see coordination on some level to do almost everything possibly WRONG. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool my twice...you aren't going to fool me twice. I smell foul play, hidden agendas, and possible nepharious intentions.
So what should I do? Go deep into conspiracy theories? Wear black and become a goth? Buy more guns? Don't go outside anymore because the world sucks? As broken hearted as I am over my nation, in every crisis there is opportunity. Many people thought everything in the world was a set way. I have a feeling these folks, including myself, are going to get rocked, and rocked hard. It will be to them like gravity failing. No job, no faith in themselves, government, their country, and false religion. Little or no hope at all. It is up to the living Church to point to the answer and give people a framework so that there is hope. The evil one is in administrative control of this world according to the Bible. There is a very real conspiracy against Christ and against humanity. As we approach the finish line the normally hidden war will become more and more visible to those of us who can see things for what they are. To those who can't, the world will become a very bleak, confusing, unstable, and fearful place. We as Christians have to be there, both as a calming influence to those who due to changes become filled with anger and hate, and to those who feel they have lost everything there is in life.
Jesus said, "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father but by Me." "I came that they might have life, and have it abundantly." and "For God so love the World, that He gave his only begotton son, that whosoever believes in Him, will have everlasting life."
We Christians have been guilty of focusing on the temporal, and not focusing on the eternal. Maybe God is allowing our world to be shaken because He is still interested in saving YOU. As the world around us changes rapidly, many things that we all rely on will fail. I urge you to seek out the ROCK that life can be built on, Jesus. He will never fail, and on Him you can place your trust and your focus.
This is how I have chosen to view things. I will change my thought patterns to this. Rather then become incredibly frustrated with the world, I will look at the current times in which we live as a great opportunity to regroup and live the life that God has called me to live, the life that though not perfect is used to point others to the King of Kings, so that some may be saved.
Life in the times that are coming is going to get rough. When the big waves hit I hope and pray that I grab the biggest surfboard out there and ride the wave instead of run or become disheartened. This new way of thinking for me is change I can believe in. I hope you will join me.
