Predictions for 2015

Here they are, ten of them.

  1. Russian and Western relations continue to deteriorate.  There might be a minor incident. However I predict a Russian limited pullback in Eastern Ukraine and an uneasy truce with occasional flare ups.  Crimea is gone to Russia.  Ruble will begin to recover. Eastern Europe on edge and continued chatter about NATO build up and various weapon purchases.  US might put tactical nukes back in Europe, like nuclear cruise missiles, but I think if so it will be done outside of the media's attention.
  2. ISIS will be a military threat for most of the year but it will not conqueror Iraq nor Syria.
  3. More flare ups with China's neighbors. China will attempt to dump US currency holdings but not to the extent that the dollar takes a dive before everything is unloaded.  Just a trend.
  4. Syrian civil war rages, more death, no resolution.
  5. Some sort of financial event around the September / October time frame.  This is a total guess but I have a few reasons for putting this down. It will be significant and the fallout might start the predicted "rebalancing" though I don't see that fully happening until a few more years out.
  6. More civil unrest in the United States by vocal minority but it serves to only strengthen tea party type political movement.  New Congress will begin challenging Obama more and more with several major challenges, but most of these challenges failing to dislodge Obama's agenda though there might be a few victories.  Obama admin's power base though, and that of future democratic administrations, is growing more fragile.
  7. Cyberwar becomes more serious.  Continued hacking of big companies.  Possibly a brief takedown of some of the grid of financial services, but quickly restored.
  8. Mexican unrest getting stronger as locals are sick and tired of corruption.  Will make more and more headlines as several states go into out and out civil war.
  9. Obama's executive amnesty will suffer some legal setbacks, so will Obamacare, but rulings will be ignored and programs will continue.  Obamacare taxes and EPA regulations on coal really start biting and people becoming more angry but programs are not stopped.
  10. Ass))ina(( attempt made on Obama that gets close but isn't successful.  Expect it when Obama's pole numbers are really low.
In short, I got nothing.  Any time a crazy gets near the WH it could be considered an attempt so that prediction is vague and I can say it was correct even though not really.  The financial crisis around September or October is my only dark horse that I predict and I hope I'm wrong.  It could be precipitated by some sort of other attack.  The other predictions are just following the current trends which I don't have nearly complete knowledge of.  Russia annexing parts of Ukraine for example took me completely by surprise but even Sarah Palin (no disrespect but not an acknowledged geopolitical analyst) saw the Russian danger to Ukraine, as did many others.  So that shows I have holes in my analysis big time.  I wonder where they are...

12. Big push to make election between Jeb vs Hillary which causes skysims in both parties to grow, though I don't think serious third party arises yet. Will the powers that be be successful? No, that is where Rand Paul comes in. I don't know what kind of deal with the devil he is making to gain power, but he is the control systems backup plan.
