- A lot of talk about frugality, but no expense spared on Obama's agendas.
- Great speeches, posturing, and a good chunk of the population swaying to Obama. Over five million people will try to crash the inauguration tomorrow. An amazing number.
- We also get a glimpse of the standard liberal practice of passing all sorts of regulations that they themselves do not follow. Apparently accessibility for the handicapped at the inauguration will be non-existent. (I know, I'm knit picking here, but the precedent will stand).
- A security state, if the 99 government agencies and 42,000+ law enforcement/national security agents/military operators that will patrol the inauguration is any precursor of things to come. To be fair this apparatus has been building for a while, the security state isn't all Obama's fault, but I don't see him derailing it.
So we have appeals to emotion, lots of spending, lots of popular support regardless of what the real agenda is, detrimental agendas passed on everyone with exclusions for the elite, and a police state in the works, if the inauguration is any indicator of what is to come. Not really what I was hoping for.
