This came from some random WND post about the Fairness Doctrine, which the conservative talk radio side of the media is getting its panties all in a bunch over, even though it hasn't been raised yet. Reference the article here-

There is a lesson that people engaged in public policy or policy debate need to learn. The other side is not your friend.
This does not mean-
- Politics shouldn't be civil, they should.
- Respect shouldn't be given, it should, but with caveats.
- Personal relationships can be formed, but never forget who you are dealing with.
I've seen time a and time again where conservative politicians are caught off guard when their left wing colleague does something that catches them off guard and seems almost like a betrayal. It happens often. Left wingers are psychopaths controlled by forces that they do not understand. These forces cause them to to be unstable. You can be nice, friendly, cordial, but not trusting of the left.
"The price of freedom is eternal vigilance", another good quote. Don't let smiles and your need for companionship and peer approval make you vulnerable to suprise attacks.
